Beware of the “Natural” label on foods!
Not only is it misleading but it is a down right lie and what I am about to share with you will make you furious! The “Natural Effect” as some call it, is false advertising at its finest. Have you been hoodwinked, scammed, bamboozled? I will admit that I have, and its why I continue to share this type of information as far as I can. I recently watched a video (see below) that discusses the topic of false advertising in “natural food’ labels in a humorous way while at the same time distressing you. The video points out that even though a food item is labeled “natural” or “100% natural” or “all-natural” it can still contain GMOs, antibiotics, chemicals, hormones, harmful preservatives and HFCS.
Here’s one very REAL and RELEVANT example of “natural food” false advertising: Chobani yogurt.

I tend to be in a rush in the mornings and so I am guilty of buying the Chobani flip yogurt with blueberries, chia, hemp and walnuts for a quick grab breakfast. Sounds healthy right? That’s not even mentioning the claim on the label that it “contains only natural ingredients!” Even when looking at the list of ingredients a bit closer (I’m a pretty avid label reader!) it looks to be true. Unfortunately, its not! I recently ran across an article in Time magazine stating that Whole Foods is ridding its stores of Chobani brand yogurt due to the use of milk that contains GMOs. Yes, that is right! GMO containing milk. GAAAAAAAAG! I just ate it this morning. Bamboozeled! Needless to say I will have to get over my laziness and get up a few minutes earlier in order to make the same tasty breakfast with my raspberry Beyond Organic Amasai instead. Lesson learned! The safest option if you are concerned about the harmful effects of GMOs, growth hormones, antibiotics etc…is to choose foods with the USDA Organic label!
